Seattle, WA: February 27, 2009: 1st Query announced the launch of The Daily Tell (www.thedailytell.com), a news website with a unique approach. The Daily Tell concentrates on positive news, divided into seven categories. In its inaugural month, The Daily Tell published sixty stories chronicling the better side of human nature. Among its first stories was an article about how "tweet-ups" on Twitter raised money for a charity and the announcement of Google’s new "philanthropy evangelist." The Daily Tell addresses a very real demand for positive news. The ultimate goal of The Daily Tell is to fill a niche often ignored by the larger news agencies. By publishing news stories with a positive bent, The Daily Tell creates a more complete picture of national and world events. The site’s mission is show how people and organizations can be a positive force for society. The Daily Tell divides its new stories into seven distinct categories: Business Philanthropy, Environmental Initiatives, Good Government, Grants and Endowments, People Making a Difference, and Technology Breakthroughs. For now, the site is primarily focusing on efforts initiating from within the United States. The Daily Tell features a wide variety of exclusive daily content, including stories covering recent nonprofit projects, philanthropic fundraisers and galas, and how companies are reducing their ecological footprint. Individual efforts, such as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s donation of 1,000 laptops to the One Laptop per Child campaign, are covered in the People Making a Difference category. The Daily Tell also reports on the positive use of technology, including a story on how mobile phones are improving life in developing nations. The Daily Tell even reports on the positive initiatives of an often maligned entity, the government. Written and edited by professional journalists, The Daily Tell is not your average "feel-good" website. Rather, it is an official chronicle of how corporations, the government, and private citizens are making this world a better place. The Daily Tell is intended to give these worthy efforts the publicity they deserve. The staff of The Daily Tell believe this publicity has the potential to inspire other people and organizations to launch philanthropic initiatives of their own.
